EST3 Life Safety Network Options

GE offers a wide variety of fire alarm control panel networking options.

The most feature-packed network control panel is the powerful EST3 system which utilizes peer-to-peer networking functions. The inherent design of the EST3’s peer-to-peer network ensures that surviving nodes form one or more sub-networks in the event communications between nodes are interrupted. This means that you'll have the ultimate survivability because even if there's a network failure and network communications are lost, the nodes will still operate in stand-alone mode.

Standalone programming options include:

  • A set of instructions that can be programmed into each node for use in the event communications with other network nodes, or even within a node, is interrupted.
  • A generic audio message in the event of a loss of audio message programming or a message conflict caused by multiple alarm events.
  • A secondary power supply (battery) is provided at each node. In the event the primary and secondary supplies both fail, EST3 nodes are designed to pass network and audio data signals through to the next node in the network should the node lose all power. This feature also keeps the balance of the network functional when a node is powered down for servicing.
  • Class A network wiring provides redundant signal paths as previously detailed.
